What happened in Rivervale
Police said a yellow Ford Falcon travelled along Alexander Road in Rivervale at about 11:40pm on Friday, February 6. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a unit, striking the front room.
The woman was inside the home when the impact happened. A family friend told ABC she had travelled from Nepal to visit relatives in Perth and had been asleep when the car hit the house.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage captured the moment of impact, according to local reporting. Neighbours described a loud bang and a chaotic emergency response in the minutes that followed.

Police charged a 36-year-old man with manslaughter and criminal damage or destruction of property, ABC reported. The man was denied bail and is due to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday, February 8.
In addition, media reports said a 43-year-old male passenger was in the car and was not injured. Police have continued to investigate how the vehicle left the road.
Police have not publicly released the victim’s name. However, Kathmandu Post reported she was Bishnu Kumari Gurung, also known as “Himali,” citing Australia Today. NRN Times has not independently verified the identity through official police statements.
