What the court documents say happened

According to the report, the woman responded to a cash job listing posted in August 2024 on Kaam Kotha, described as a Nepalese community classifieds app. Singh arranged to meet her at Ashfield Mall and walked her to a nearby office building.

The documents say the victim grew concerned because the building was dark and empty. She called a friend and tried to leave. However, the report says Singh blocked her in an elevator, took her phone, and assaulted her inside the building. She later escaped through a fire exit and sought help at a nearby pharmacy, the report says.

Sentence and release timeline

The NSW District Court imposed a non-parole period of one year and nine months, the report says. After credit for time already spent in custody, it said Singh could be eligible for release on May 20, 2026.

The report also said he received a sentencing discount because he entered an early guilty plea.
